RIOT Interview

Bass Stud Interview with RIOT

Monstercat veterans RIOT introduce their most epic project to date, the storyline-based, immersive sonic journey known as “Dogma Resistance.” In the form of a ten-track studio album and accompanying visual comic book by company HERØ, RIOT brings to life the story of Raymond Colt and his descendants in a fusion of past and future.

Below is our conversation with RIOT on the occasion of this massive release, check it out :

1. RIOT is one of the most loved names in dubstep now, how do you guys feel about your journey so far?
We are excited! Excited to bring our vision to life with the help of Monstercat and our team, and excited to have shared our creative worlds with our fans. What drives us the most is seeing how the fans react to our story, our journey….it’s the most fulfilling feeling ever!

2. You both worked on the Dogma Resistance album for over 2 years and finally accomplished such a big project. What have been the key points during the creation of this album and what kept you motivated for the same?
This was a long and challenging journey for us with a lot of obstacles and writer’s blocks, but at the end of it all, we were able to overcome the hurdles to be able to deliver a fully fleshed out Album that we’re really proud of. It’s hard to describe the mental space you go through while creating music, you could be in love with what you are doing one second, and the next thing its terrible. Just about being consistent with what feels right, stop doubting yourself and know that your fans will feel that throughout your music.

3. A graphic novel experience along with a music album is a very unique concept. Where do you get this idea from?
Well, we needed a way to tie in describing what we felt the music meant to us and the storyline we envisioned, this way fans could get a full grasp on our vision. It all started with our team’s suggestions and just carried forward from there.

4. How do you feel about the strenuous period post releasing a full-length album on top of a massive Fall-Winter 2019 tour?
Its fun, we do it because we love it, otherwise, there is no reason to be in the music industry or an Artist! It is stressful, happy, and grueling all at the same time, but it’s what makes this what drives us to do what we love.

5. You have a huge fan-base in India. Do you have any messages you’d like to convey to them?
Thank you for all your support, we love every one of you and can’t wait to come to tour INDIA!
